Berlin Arts Spotlight – A Grant Celebrating the Region’s Most Exciting Visual Artists
PAKD Gallery invites visual artists from Berlin and Brandenburg to apply for the PAKD Berlin Arts Spotlight, a grant designed to showcase the region’s most compelling artistic voices. Selected artists will receive a week-long exhibition and dedicated publicity to amplify their work.
Committed to the democratization of art, our selection process is guided by our growing network of artists and curators, all chosen through a transparent, community-driven approach.
The application process
Send us links to three to five images or videos of your recent work for consideration. Work must be in JPG or PNG format for images. Use a file hosting platform of your choice (WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc)
We will enter you into a round of selection where work will be voted on by our growing roster of artists and curators. Successful applicants will also join the roster and be invited to judge future rounds.
What the PAKD Berlin Arts Spotlight stands for
We’re looking for exceptionally dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking artists—creatives unafraid to question and redefine what contemporary art means in the 21st century. PAKD values voices that champion diversity, embrace bold and confrontational ideas, and harness visual and auditory media in powerful, unconventional ways. Of particular importance are marginalized perspectives—those working at the edges of artistic tradition and challenging the cultural status quo—who bring fresh urgency and impact to Berlin’s art scene.

“Because I was always drawing, my mother did, this is the greatest thing she did, one of the greatest things, she refused to ever have me have coloring books. She did not do that for my brother or my sister. Somehow a really beautiful thing came to her that [coloring books] would be restrictive, and kill some kind of creativity.”
